Cats are experts at finding comfortable places to rest. On a warm day, you may notice your cat moving to a cooler floor, stretching out in the shade, or becoming less active than usual.

These behaviors are part of how cats naturally cope with heat. However, cats are not immune to overheating. When their bodies absorb more heat than they can release, their temperature can continue to rise and lead to heatstroke.

Environmental Causes of Heatstroke in Cats
